About Tony
Tony Calabrese is the founder of Absolute Transitions, LLC. A lifelong New Jersey resident, he has thrived through a series of life changing events over the last several years. Absolute Transitions provides the opportunity for him to share what he has learned with others. Additionally, the last several years have afforded him the opportunity to be a “student of life,” and he knows that will continue by partnering with others as they continue their way on their life’s journey.
Tony found himself a widower in 2006, after supporting his spouse through intensive cancer treatments. The impact of that experience led him to decide to shift directions by retiring from a 30 year career in Project Management and Systems assignments at Prudential Financial. Tony always enjoyed and thrived at the staff and people development aspects of his job. When deciding what to do next, he was introduced to the concepts of Life Coaching and realized it provided many of the same people interactions he had enjoyed in previous assignments. It was a natural path for him to pursue.
In 2009, Tony earned his certifications from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (IPEC) in both their intensive coach training program and their Energy Leadership assessment and debriefing process. Energy Leadership introduced him to the realization that they indeed DO have the CHOICE in how they experience their life. In August of 2011, he became a GetFive Certified Career Coach. GetFive is America’s premier career development and outplacement service, providing those who use their approaches a targeted, strategic and researched set of methodologies in performing a job search. In 2013, he extended his talents to working with “trailing spouses” to the New Jersey/New York area, providing both career coaching and acclimation assistance to their new home area.
Tony partners with his clients, providing them the ability to answer their own questions on how they want to choose to live the life they want for themselves. He works with them to find the opportunities that are available to them, as long as they are willing to challenge oneself to explore new ideas and approaches. He knows anything is possible, since he has lived this exact approach himself for the last eight years.
Tony remarried in October of 2009 and resides with his wife, Carolina, in Maplewood, NJ. They both enjoy being of service to others, Tony through his coaching and Carolina through adult literacy and ESL tutoring. Tony and Carolina enjoy traveling, seeing shows, following Major League baseball and spending time with numerous nephews and nieces in their combined families.
